Justin Bieber has had several bad run-ins with overzealous paprazzi, but this time things ending tragically. A photographer attempted to get a picture of police officers pulling over Justin's white Ferrari (which was being driven by rapper Lil Twist) was struck by oncoming traffic and killed.

According to Los Angeles Police spokesman James Stoughton, "the photographer spotted the sports car, parked his own vehicle across the street, crossed to get closer to Bieber's car and took photos of its occupants."

Police officers told the man to return to his car and he was struck as he attempted to cross the street again.

Justin Bieber released a statement about the incident:

"While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim."

"Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves."
